We chose the Four Seasons Resort Rancho Encantado in Santa Fe to celebrate our anniversary. During my massage, the therapist applied oil directly to my hair without asking. My hair was drenched, and I had no way to fix it before our anniversary dinner—it left me feeling uncomfortable on what should have been a special night. I reported the issue to the hotel and followed up by email, but I never received a reply. At this level of property, I expected acknowledgment and a simple apology at minimum. Four Seasons is known for its service philosophy, and I hope management reviews this situation so other guests aren’t put in the same position. The rest of the property is beautiful, but the lack of response to a clear service issue was disappointing.

This is a beautiful property. Our room (casita???) was beautiful and elegant. The staff at the resort were all friendly and helpful. The food at the on-site Terra restaurant was excellent. I highly recommend the Dulce de Leche Warm Cake for dessert, but know that it's big enough for two people, so bring a friend! It was one of the best dessert experiences I have had anywhere.

This was our first time staying at a Four Seasons, and while the hotel is absolutely beautiful, and the location was lovely, it really was not what we expected from a 5 star hotel at this price point. For us, the big differentiator between a 4 and 5 star hotel comes down to the service, and unfortunately there were just a lot of little things that piled up and left us feeling disappointed. They lost some groceries we got delivered (eventually found them a day later after we bought more), only serviced the room once per day even though the website says twice, it took 45 minutes (not exaggerating) to get a lemonade and chips at the pool (and they got the order wrong), and we were upsold a suite because we were told it was private, but the back patio looked over the parking lot with people walking by all day. Also, on our last night, someone called our room at nearly 9pm (we were getting ready for bed) to ask if we wanted turn down or needed any towels. It was just very weird. Everyone was very polite and sweet, but it’s like nothing was ever quite “right.” The bed was very comfy and the room was spacious. The location is unbeatable. The place has a ton of potential. But I just expected something more “special.” We’ve stayed at the Peninsula and Intercontinental, and the service was just on another level. If I’m going to spend that kind of money again, I’d go somewhere that will deliver the equivalent service.

I stayed at the Four Seasons Santa Fe for an early Christmas trip with my partner and his parents, and we had an absolutely lovely time. This property definitely lives up to the Four Seasons name, and was a really relaxing and beautiful place to unwind for a few days in the high desert of New Mexico. The sunsets from the bar's terrace are breathtaking. The resort is a short drive (about 15-20 minutes) to downtown Santa Fe, and its about a 45 minute drive to Bandelier National Monument which was surprisingly cool as a self-guided day trip. My partner and I stayed in a Rancho Suite, which was AMAZING, and my parents-in-law stayed in a Vista Casita. All of the rooms are recently renovated, and feel fresh, and have a modern, chic, and sophisticated style with a distinctly New Mexican touch. The Rancho Suite was incredibly spacious - huge, really - with a large living room, large bedroom, gigantic full bathroom / dressing area, and a separate powder room. And the signature Four Seasons mattress and bedding - honestly its my favorite part of staying at a Four Seasons! The Suite also had a large outdoor patio, and two fireplaces, one indoor and outdoor. I would highly recommend upgrading to the Suite, if possible to feel like you're really treating yourself. The Vista Casita, which my parents-in-law stayed in, was also incredibly tasteful and thoughtful in its interior design and furnishings - but I was just blown away by the suite! The difference between the Rancho Suite and Encantado Suite is apparently the view, with the Encantado Suite having one, and the Rancho Suite not. The view from the Rancho Suite was terrestrial, not too bad, with desert landscaping and such. It is worth calling and speaking to someone at the resort after booking if you are particular about your view - I was surprised to see the resort's layout after arriving, which isn't easy to understand from the online photos - some of the casitas look like they have views more directly onto the parking area, or are nearer to other casitas - while other casitas look like they are naturally positioned to be facing a more private direction. Two other great, and complementary, amenities of the resort are - you can reserve a private hot tub area via the spa - which we took advantage of each day - this might be harder to reserve when the resort is busy. And, there is a really scenic hiking trail that starts right from the resort, and has great views of the surrounding landscape, local plants, and wasn't too challenging for a novice (it had some steep bits, so at times a workout!) But, it was nice to do a hike without having to drive to a trailhead. The service was superb, with all of the team being friendly, and making us feel welcome. Each night we had the "fire butler" come and light our fireplaces. The hotel also provides complementary s'more kits / marshmallow roasting kits, which was a really cute touch. Be advised. There is currently a large scale expansion project going on. The noise and pounding is unbearable and permeates throughout the entire building. If you are looking for peace and quiet, this is NOT the place. Also the service level is about the same as the Holiday Inn, in other words, it is terrible. It takes 10 requests to get some ice sent to your room. This is the absolute WORST Four Seasons I have ever stayed at. Maybe the last.

We stayed for a glorious four nights last month, loved it and can't wait to return. The casitas are lovely, comfortable and spacious, and the whole property feels like it fits in perfectly in the desert setting, as Four Seasons often do. We had breakfast at Terra every morning and food and service were always excellent, with a special mention for Estrella for providing wonderful and warm service to start our day. The food was also fantastic, and I am still dreaming of those blue corn pancakes. We had a wonderful and quiet dinner there one evening as well, where food wine and service again were exceptional. We used the hotel shuttle just about every day to drive us into town near the plaza or Canyon Road, and enjoyed chatting with Elijah and the rest of the drivers. We visited the spa every afternoon and loved the private courtyard sauna and hot tub, it was a great way to wind down before dinner; to sit in the courtyard under the sun and listen to the birds chirping. Overall, we can't say enough good things about it and look forward to coming back.

Very peaceful nice place but in room dinning takes really long time to come but everything else is amazing it is so buetiful and all of that stuff and I came with my family and dinner was nice but took long to come. service was awesome I just really loved it you guys should come. Four Seasons typically has great bars/cocktails, and this just north of Santa Fe location did not disappoint. It’s a beautiful setting and both food and drinks were terrific during our happy hour visit - and what a deal! We will definitely return and try their dinner menu.

My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary at Rancho Encantado - and from the moment we arrived we could not have wished for better. On checking in, the staff were wonderful and everyone friendly. We were offered some hot apple cider which was delicious and shown the activity schedule for the week. Our room was ready even though we were early, and we even had an anniversary surprise brought to us. The room took our breath away. We booked a Mountain View Casita and it was stunning, especially in the snow! The room was enormous, more like an apartment. There was a separate shower (which was one of the best we’ve ever been in) and bath. We had a fireplace in our casita and the fire butlers who came to light the fire were brilliant. We especially enjoyed having s’mores in our room! The furnishings and amenities were top notch, as you’d expect in a Four Seasons. The beds are huge and comfortable. All of the food and beverages were excellent. We didn’t order lots but what we had was very good. We did the margarita demo which included some delicious drinks that our server (Donna Lee - she was really wonderful!) made to our tastes. We had an early lunch and were really impressed by the sandwiches and soup. We had room service one night and we were a little disappointed by the chicken sandwich - it just didn’t seem fresh and Four Seasons standard. The activities were great. We were the only ones on our 9am hike and Daniel was really very good. A very enjoyable way to spend an hour in the morning. We also used the complimentary spa facilities which was pleasant. On the day we arrived, we tried to book same day into the cooking class. Unfortunately as nobody had booked this 24 hours prior it wasn’t being run. Had we known it was an option, we would have booked into it, so it was a shame we missed out on that. Perhaps sharing the week’s activities in advance for inbound guests would avoid future disappointment. The shuttle into Santa Fe was a nice touch. It was comfortable and meant we were able to go into town for a few drinks and get back safely. When paying $$$ for a hotel, we really expect the best and have heightened expectations when justifying the price. We got it. We’ve been fortunate enough to stay at excellent properties, including other Four Seasons’, around the world and have zero hesitation in saying this may well be the best we have ever been to. Thank you, Four Seasons. Without a doubt, we will travel back to Santa Fe just to visit again!

Luxury experience in a stunningly beautiful setting. The staff at the Four Seasons were all well-trained, and made every effort to be accommodating to our family. A small secluded resort, offers a chance to get away from it all while still providing things to do. The restaurant is excellent with a wide variety of dishes and cocktails. Rooms are well appointed and downtown Santa Fe is a quick 15 min drive. Our teenagers enjoyed the game room and we enjoyed the on site hiking trail!
