We traveled as a family to welcome the New Year and stayed for five nights. From the very first moment, the hotel conveys something that is not easy to find: genuine warmth, great attention to detail, and a culture of hospitality that is felt rather than proclaimed. The architecture and décor reflect care and good taste. Every space is thoughtfully designed so guests feel comfortable, relaxed, and truly welcomed. Jean-Louis, the owner, and his wife have infused the hotel with this personal touch throughout. He himself welcomed us with a cup of coffee, a warm smile, and a phrase that says it all: “I am arequipe?o.” And yes—his heart truly is. That same spirit is reflected across the entire staff: attention to detail, quick solutions, thoughtful recommendations, and genuine care for the guest. Nothing feels forced. Everything flows naturally. The location is excellent: in a beautiful residential area of Arequipa, just steps from Selva Alegre Park, and about a 10–15 minute walk to the city center. The perfect distance for a pleasant walk, some light exercise, and an ideal excuse to discover great restaurants and cultural attractions along the way, such as the Museum of Viceregal Art at the Santa Teresa Convent. The hotel makes everything easy so your stay is truly enjoyable. Every day, we felt at home. One of the lounges has a piano—perfect for practicing or simply enjoying—and the heated pool, set at the top of the garden, is a wonderful place to unwind. Breakfast and meals are very good, and the coffee… delicious (thank you Serapio!). When it was time to leave, we genuinely felt sad to go. What began as a host–guest relationship evolved into a sense of closeness and friendship. As a final example of their service level: we forgot a personal item. A WhatsApp message sent from the taxi on the way to the airport, and within 20 minutes, it had been sent in an envelope, in my name, directly to the airport. Those details matter. And when they are consistently delivered, they create real coherence between what is promised and what is experienced. We highly recommend Villa Elisa and will most certainly return.

I highly recommend staying here. It is located in a quiet residential neighborhood and only a 20 minute walk/8-10 minute Uber to the Historic Center. There are antique and vintage pieces throughout the lobby and in the hallways. They have done a wonderful job decorating I really loved it. There is a beautiful courtyard and garden area and also a pool which I didn't use. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The rooms have some rustic gently used furnishings as well as modern touches and are very clean. There is no central heat/AC as is the case in smaller hotels in Peru but they do have a space heater. There was an extra blanket in the closet which I thought I would need the first night but it turned out the one on the bed was sufficient so I didn't use it again. The bed was firm but comfortable. The bathroom was updated with modern touches. This includes a trend I don't love, showers with half a glass wall and no door. There is a safe in the closet. They have a restaurant but the days/hours of operation are not very clear. There is a QR code in the room with the menu but when I when I left the room after arrival to go eat, the representative advised it was closed but should be open the next day, it wasn't or the day after This would be my only recommendation for improvement. Because of this I Uber'd to the Plaza de Armas and had dinner there. They do offer breakfast for two hours in the morning, I believe 7-9 but can'r remember for certain. They also call you to ask if you'll be having breakfast to remind you when it ends. It was a Continental Breakfast but they will also prepare eggs however you want them including a ham and cheese omelette. I met the owner on my last morning there at breakfast. He was just as friendly as can be. He really has created a wonderful place to stay at a great value, you should see it for yourself!

We chose the Villa Elisa hotel because of its lovely courtyard garden, which was even nicer in person than in photos. The room was roomy and very comfortable (although note that the pillows were quite firm). We dined in the hotel restaurant one night and had a pleasant meal. The staff were very friendly and the owner very hospitable. The hotel was an easy 20-minute or so walk from the plaza, so we found the location fine to explore from.

Super halte à la Villa Elisa pendant mon voyage à Arequipa ! L’h?tel est calme, très propre et plein de charme. L’accueil est chaleureux et le personnel toujours souriant. Le petit déjeuner et le déjeuner sont délicieux, parfaits pour bien démarrer la journée avant de repartir à l’aventure. Je recommande sans hésiter !

It's a very lovely property within walking distance of the city centre. There were a few things that made our stay just not as nice as I was hoping. 1. Smoking is allowed on the balconies and in the garden. While we were there a lady

This was probably my favourite accommodation during our Peru trip. It still oozes charm & evokes memories kf a bygone era of travel. Our room was large & comfortable, breakfast was good & location quiet. It is approximately 15-25 minutes' walk from the centre (monastery about 15 mins, plaza de Armas a bit further). I'd recommend noting a landmark on your way down as we frequently took a wrong turn at the park which bends rounds. Not a big deal - just added a few minutes to the walk! They also provided a packed lunch when we went on a day tour to Colca Canyon.

Merci Jean-Louis et toute l’équipe chaleureuse de Villa Elisa pour votre accueil. C’est la deuxième fois pour nous, un passage obligatoire si on revisite Arequipa. L’h?tel, l’équipe, le jardin, la piscine, les colibris et la tranquillité du quartier sont incroyables. A villa Elisa on se sent comme à la maison.
