primitivste Badezimmerausstattung, z.B. Tür zur Dusche klapperte dermassen, dass man befürchtete, sie f?llt raus, gef?hrlich glatter Boden in der Dusche, viel zu wenig Ablagem?glichkeiten im Zimmer (ausgerichtet auf kurze Aufenthalte, um den Gast schnell wieder loszuwerden), billigstes Polyester-Bettzeug/Kopfkissen, 1 Sessel für DZ, wackeliger Tisch, v?llig überteuerte Preise im Hotel-Restaurant bei miserablem Service (anscheinend begründet mit dem Blick aufs Münster) etc. etc.
We travelled as a group of 3 ladies staying for 2 night. We arrived at reception and it took 10 minutes to be acknowledged by the manager and checked in, we were pointed to the apartment upstairs. The stairs were smelly not sure if this was drains or cleaning products used, but it was an unpleasant smell. The two bed apartment was basic but clean. There was a fridge and a kettle but no crockery or filters so we had to ask for these. There was no tea or coffee sachets so not sure what the purpose of the kettle is!We were not given any info re facilities, breakfast times or bar facilities. We ordered drinks and asked for these to be added to our room but were told NO by the man that had checked us in, no reason just a flat no. The area is mixed and there are some really lovely places to eat Tilia cafe and Shickschmeide restaurant with great service Would I go back to this hotel definitely not
What a gem! Great location, good breakfast and very helpful stuff. Room 21 has great views and it’s convenient for families. This hotel is just great. The only constructive comment I have is that it’s a pity that the tv is pretty redundant for English speakers…. the only stations available are news stations. Keeping the kids occupied with tv makes the parent’s holiday smoother. At least give us the option to connect our phone with the tv or something of the sort.
Excellent location. Average - good food. The price is higher than we expected. Very tight in manpower. In some moments, we could not find a waiter in the restaurant. A restaurant that will not give you good surprise but given its excellent location, it is fine to have a meal there after a walk in that area.
Loved this hotel, set right in the cathedral square. The people were great and super friendly and accommodating. The hotel has a restaurant on the first floor plus the square hosts a market Monday-Friday. There are also lots of shops and restaurants in the square. Would highly recommend and stay again.
Stayed one night in June, mainly for location in alstadt as well as large family suite. Incredible view out of our window to the Church/Munster. Didn’t dine in hotel restaurant but it looked good. Walked everywhere easily once we dropped off car at rental location on outskirts (used public tram to get us to old town).
I loved this little hotel! The location ideal, small but enough space, AC worked wonderfully for warm days and staff was lovely and accommodating. My daughter was studying for the summer in Freiburg and this hotel was perfect to spend some time with her as her student apartment was a 5 minute walk. Those that are complaining about the alley entrance are being snobs because it was safe and saved you from having to walk through the restaurant to get to the elevators. I stayed here twice in the month of July and would pick it again in a heartbeat.
Wonderful hotel—all the modern amenities in the room but inside a charming traditional hotel. The staff were all amazing, especially Elisa and Traudi (so?) who went above and beyond to welcome us. Great location across the square from the cathedral.
