Having previously stayed at Super Hotel in Shinjuku, Tokyo, we decided to use this chain for our trips to Osaka and Yokohama. We arrived at the hotel and we were quickly checked in. It seems that most of the staff did not speak English, which we did expect, but unlike Shinjuku and Yokohama, nothing about the hotels facilities were advised in English on a card, so we had to figure everything out for ourselves. The room itself was small, but comfortable. Breakfast was quite poor for the options provided. We went down at 8.30am on the Sunday to find 3 bread rolls and last parts of hot Japanese noodles etc. On the Monday, we went down around the same time to find that breakfast was just finishing up. We found out later that breakfast stops at 8.30am - something that was not made aware to us and different timings to that of the other two hotels. We gave up on hoping to have a decent breakfast for the rest of our stay and just picked up some pastries from the nearby 7/Eleven. On the 4th day, we came back to the hotel at around 2pm as we wanted to drop some shopping off. There was a note on the sliding door in English that it was not possible to enter the rooms due to cleaning. Through Google translate, we checked with reception who indeed confirmed it was not possible to enter the room, even after checking our room number. So if you want to go back to your room at any time, it seems it's not possible between 10am and 3pm. We were woken every morning by nearby building works. While it's not the fault of the hotel, most hotels I have stayed in have advised of any expected disturbances. The location is good, but I am not sure if I would choose to stay here again based on the breakfast choices, lack of communication and no access to your own room within your own time.
