Agree with all the other glowing reviews! Very convenient location, walk-able to restaurants and shops in Bar Harbor and a short drive from Acadia. There's also a nearby path along the shore that's nice for a sunrise or sunset walk. Breakfast every morning was a treat, consisting of a starter and main entree that alternated between sweet and savory during our stay. We would absolutely recommend this B&B!
We visited Bar Harbor this past weekend and our stay at the Atlantean was one of our favorite parts of the trip and that is saying a lot. The cottage was soo cozy, quiet and clean. The location was truly unbeatable, and the staff was so kind and accommodating. My sister and I have allergies and they made us our own gluten free and egg free blueberry pancakes! They were outstanding. Thank you Atlantean for making our trip so special! We will be back.
We stayed at Atlantean Cottage in July and had a fantastic experience from start to finish. The room was clean, quiet and very well organized, it has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The bed linens, towels, and bathrobes all felt soft, high-quality, and luxurious. Each morning began with an exceptional breakfast prepared by Chef Nadine—creative, delicious, and beautifully presented. It truly made our mornings special. The location is also ideal—just a block from Main Street, yet quiet and tucked away, and just minutes from all the major Acadia National Park attractions.Convenient on-site parking, including four EV charging stations, was a great bonus. Highly recommend!
Atlantean Cottage B&B is an absolute gem and the perfect place to stay in Bar Harbor! We visited in October for the Mount Desert Island Marathon, and from the moment we arrived, we knew we had made the right choice. Brad and Nadine are exceptional hosts—warm, welcoming, and incredibly attentive to every detail. They made us feel at home right away, offering great local recommendations and ensuring we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Their hospitality truly elevated our experience. The location is unbeatable—just a short walk to the heart of Bar Harbor, where you can explore great restaurants, shops, and the waterfront. Yet, the inn itself is tucked away in a quiet, peaceful setting, providing the perfect balance of convenience and relaxation. Our room was nothing short of amazing—beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, and thoughtfully designed with comfort in mind. The cozy ambiance, plush bedding, and charming details made it the perfect retreat after a long day of exploring Acadia National Park and enjoying the marathon events. Breakfast each morning was absolutely delicious, with fresh, high-quality ingredients and a creative menu that made every meal a treat. It was clear that a lot of love and care goes into every dish. We truly can't recommend Atlantean Cottage enough! Whether you're visiting for an event like the marathon, exploring Acadia, or just looking for a peaceful getaway, this B&B is the perfect choice. We will absolutely be staying here again on our next trip to Bar Harbor!
I was a bit anxious about staying in a B&B for the first time, but Atlantean Cottage was a 5-star experience. Everything about the house is lovely — no communal breakfast tables, modern furnishings and artwork, beautiful grounds, and on and on. We stayed four nights and left saying the breakfasts might be the best we’ve ever had. Brad and Nadine have thought of everything to provide a comfortable stay. Another big advantage is the proximity to Main Street… steps away but feels like a world away.
A perfect room in a perfect cottage with perfect hosts and chefs! We have stayed in several (maybe 7-10) B&Bs over the years. This was, BY FAR, the best experience yet. Brad and Nadine have created a haven from the busyness of Bar Harbor. We stayed in the first-floor Wingwood room and were concerned that it might be a little noisy being so close to the parking lot, kitchen, and cottage entrance. Nope - so very quiet we didn't even hear other guests coming down for breakfast. Speaking of breakfast - wow! This is not like any breakfast I've ever made. Blueberry crumble, tomato tart from scratch puff pastry, waffles and friend chicken, huevas rancheros - you will not go hungry here. The butlers pantry supplies fresh ice, water, tea, snacks, fruit, and (if you're lucky) cookies. The Wingwood room has a spacious private balcony with comfy furniture and privacy curtains. We sat here every evening before and after walking to dinner. When we go back to Bar Harbor, we won't look anywhere else. We have already found he perfect getaway!
I love to stay in a bed and breakfast when I travel and the Atlantean is one of the best B & B experiences I have had. Wonderfully situated, the cottage is tucked around the corner from Main Street in Bar Harbor, Maine. The grounds of the cottage are well tended. The common rooms as well as the Wingwood Suite are well appointed and comfortable. Loved the private porch off the Wingwood Suite. Breakfast on the front porch was lovely and delicious. Brad and Nadine are wonderful hosts and work hard to make sure each guest has a great Bar Harbor experience. As for Bar Harbor, I wouldn't think of staying anywhere else.
The Atlantean Cottage is on a quiet street but only one block from Main Street so it's a great location. The house itself is gorgeous and recently redecorated I think. It is lovingly cared for. Our bedroom was large and quiet. I never heard the other guests although the house was fully booked. I loved the privacy. There was a beautifully landscaped side yard with chairs where you could get away from the downtown activity. We enjoyed eating fantastic breakfasts on the front porch every morning. I loved this place and would definitely stay here again. There is free parking behind the building which is nice so you can leave your car and walk everywhere. The hosts were kind and helpful and gave guests their space.
We stayed 4 nights at the Atlantean. Hard not to give EVERYTHING 5 stars: Excellent breakfasts. Excellent mattress and sheets. Excellent room (large and well appointed). Excellent location near Main Street but far enough away for a quiet respite. Get the picture? The hosts Brad and Nadine couldn't be more accommodating and helpful. Other pluses: Parking on site which solved the problem of trying to find street parking in Bar Harbor. The house had numerous places outside to enjoy the nice Main weather in June. Overall highly recommend the Atlantean Cottage for your Bar Harbor visit
Everything was excellent. The house is beautiful and the room was so nicely decorated and clean. Couldn't ask for a better location with off street parking. Made it easy to just walk around the area. The breakfast was amazing. Definitely a must stay if you are in the area.
