A wonderful idilic village in the Cotswolds. We rented a cottage “Bewick” which is to the side of main the main Swan hotel with its own parking. The staff are very helpful and attentive. The food was excellent but was standard issue for hotels in the “Fullers Tavern” group. The cottage was very cosy and clean with two bathrooms, bedroom, a sofa bed downstairs with the second bathroom. There was a kitchen with very basic equipment, no bowls for cereal and no toaster for the bread all directing you to use hotel restaurant. Would recommend staying midweek as the small village is invaded at weekends by tourists which really takes away from experiencing this lovely village. Good base to explore the Cotswolds.

So we stayed opposite the pub in 'riverside' which although it had a lovely view was very run down e.g curtains missing material, stains on tables and generally unkept and unclean. The worst though was the noise from a cottage that is above us which even with ear plugs in kept us awake...I did tell reception in the morning but they were not interested! Considering the amount of £215 for 1 night it would of been cleaner quieter and cheaper to of stayed in the Premier Inn!

We stayed here in February - Friday to Sunday. Our room in the cottage was lovely. Spacious well equipped and tasteful. Food in the bar was excellent both evenings, not the usual pub grub. Carefully put together we enjoyed it a lot. Breakfasts were also very good. One comment, we had a lovely bath but only a shower to hold, which splashed the floor. Apart from that, excellent. Good value we thought.

Lovely cosy B&B in a lovely rural location. We are two couples and visit the Cotswolds every year to walk and enjoy the food and drink that the local area has to offer. Our rooms (stable 1&2) were lovely with a great bath / shower plus coffee and tea making facilities. The drinks in the pub are reasonably priced and we were excited to dine for dinner due to previous reviews on how great the food was. We were unfortunately left disappointed as the food wasn’t great. My burger had a hair on it, the risotto wasn’t that great and the chicken Milanese also wasn’t great. We told the server that there was a hair in my dinner just to be told that the chef is bald so it can’t be his?? That was it…… no apologies. Other than the poor food quality the staff were lovely and the beers / ambiance was great. The breakfast was also great and I loved the filter coffee! Thanks for having us but due to the poor dinner quality we won’t be back.

First time stay here having booked at weekend Thoroughly enjoyed our trip wonderful location and garden helped by the sunny weather We had one of the stable rooms which was ideal for one night being clean and comfy. We ate here in the evening and the meal was really tasty and faultless. The wine is a tad limited and not many below £30 for a bottle but the Sauvignon we had at 27 was fine Breakfast again faultless and clearly using local ingredients What helps here are the staff very welcoming attentive and friendly in particular the young guy who welcomed us on arrival and the lady at breakfast this morning both working incredibly hard Will definitely return

Just a 1 night stay on a Saturday. Arrived about 2 had drinks in the sunshine by the river and in the garden . Stayed in the forge which we liked. Good bathroom bath/rain shower. Woken by the sounds of a Cockerell. Dinner and breakfast were both good. Thanks and we will return.

Sunday lunch at its best, basically 3 of us stopped there . The menu was just enough to choose from not overly crowded. The food was 5 star perfectly cooked, nice selection and service was perfect ,you pay for what you get and there was plenty to eat.We were sat outside very pleasant and warming. Now it’s on our calling station for the way home

We stayed 2 nights in the rooms opposite The Swan, our room was great, spacious and comfy looking out onto the Windrush river. The location is lovely, very peaceful, but only a short drive into Burford. We ate both nights in the pub and were really impressed with the whole experience, candles and fresh flowers on every table, 2 wood burning fires, friendly staff and great food! A short but tasty cocktail list was a bonus too. Breakfast was good and served by such a friendly young lady (sorry we didn’t get her name) but she deserves a special thank you for her excellent customer service.

Lovely room - warm, spacious, comfortable - excellent night’s sleep. Good dinner, especially the excellent Cote de Gascon (?sp) wine, breakfast also. Pleasant, helpful staff. Beautiful location with much of interest for those interested in the Mitford family, as The Swan used to be owned by the Duchess of Devonshire nee “Debo” Mitford.

Had a lovely 2 night stay here with friends. Stayed in the cottage across the road. Very well kitted out. All the staff were amazing and very helpful. Breakfast was great both days. Evening meal was really good the first night not so good the second. Pheasant was a bit dry and steaks not cooked to how requested but it would not deter us from going back.
