We two germans had 5 excellent nights at the tripura castle. It is xcellent situated for exploring the breathtaking area. Beautiful rooms, bars, restaurants with great views, super food and excellent warm hearted service from the crew! Especially the breakfast buffet and the crew there we want to mention. Warm, attentive. mindful. lovely service. To the crew there and especially to the beautiful female "Chef" on duty (former Flight Attendant at Emirates) we send our warmest regards. We called her Angel (pari-pari). All the best. We hope we can come again! J+B

This hotel is touted to be in a quiet, serene location away from the Shillong hubbub. It is not! It is very much in Shillong amidst all the chaos and traffic jams and bad roads. I had booked for 4 nights and after the first day when I ventured to go to Cheerapunji and turned back midway due to horrendous roads, I stayed put in the hotel for the next 3 days. Just did not have the appetite for the terrible traffic and filth and roads. The room was fine except for the bathroom which had inferior quality plumbing making it impossible to use the shower mixer with a very low water pressure. Shillong was cooler than I had expected and I had to ask for 2 heaters and even then the room and the bathroom were chilly. There is basically just one dining menu offered in 3 different locations and is focused more on Chinese. The breakfast was the typical Indian spread with a number of daily change options. Staff throughout the hotel wre very polite and courteous. Lastly, please note that the entire property is built on a hilly lot with multiple levels and one has to negotiate numerous inclines and steps to get from anywhere to anywhere. If you are hard of mobility, it will be a major problem.

Allotted Deluxe rooms towards maharaja's villa are out of network and wifi (308 & 309), the management didn't help us to change our rooms but as we booked the room through Make my trip, so they helped us. The front office people don't know how to greet their guests, they will keep sitting on their Chairs and deal with you during your Check in n Check out ( No stand up atticate) 2 stars for them. Breakfast was tasty, complementary for everyone and I rated it 5 stars. Housekeeping staff are too professional in cleaning rooms and super fast in their work, 5 stars for them. Securities are helpful, 4 stars for them. Beautiful bar & restaurant.

It’s a beautiful property. However, the service standards are not as good. We were a group and with 4 rooms and we were given cottages that were far away from each other. And completely different types of rooms were given. Only the next day we got nearby rooms as per our request. It’s the perfect location for the ones who want to be away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It’s hilly area and the cottages are not easily accessible. We were told that there is buggy service whenever we need but our experience was opposite. There is only 1 buggy service that goes down the hill to those cottages where we stayed.

I read a lot of reviews stating rude staff, but trust me. Staff is very courteous and Helpful. Great Hotel and amazing stay. We stayed there for 3 nights. It was a business cum leisure trip and we enjoyed the beautiful layout of the property and would definitely recommend.

It's a wonderful property ...great hospitality and food is also amazing . So., if u are looking at photos and don't have the idea what exactly the property offers pls read this review... So property is divided into two vicinity ..one is heritage side and another is new premises...we opted for new premises it has a cafe restaurant and cottages also one villa/queens bedroom adjacent to each other divided by a sitting area ..amazing space for two families..rooms and bathroom are super spacious. One of these room faces valley view and another faces country view . The new side of property is towards valley so there are slopes to be climbed to go to breakfast or anywhere outside of the rooms i would suggest family with elderly people should enquire in detail if going for new property. I didn't get chance to visit heritage wing. So no idea about it. For the hotel ..i would suggest you all to put up latest photos of property as it's beautiful but website is not doing justice. Room service..house keeping staff and weighting staff is courteous polite and pleasent ...chef was kind enough to accommodate every need and customisation of food . It was an amazing stay i would recommend this property if u r visiting meghalay.

We had an excellent stay in this resort. It was a majestic property in the city of Shillong. Rooms were excellent and spacious, room service was prompt. Foods were tasty. Although brekafast spread were a bit less, all of the items were tasty. However, they dont respond to the calls made in the number provided in the website. However, they respond to mails promptly. This thing can be addressed.

Me(samindra)wife (nikita) Stayed on 26th to 1st march2025 Dinner was amazing but Ms Wanbha is more then amazing because her innocent face & serve to food &also her manner was fantastic My wife &Me started to call her beta(daughter) & also at breakfast time manager i don't name but she came from Calcutta she is also very very nice As per my filings resort is running with like this type of smiling faces Regards Sam & niki

This is not a hotel! It’s a sprawling complex, on a hill, a little away from the busy Shillong town. The location is very pretty and depending on the category of the room, you could have stunning views from your balcony. The staff is courteous and helpful, and the food is excellent. I am not sure why they do not serve fresh juices for breakfast, considering the abundant availability of locally grown pineapple and oranges. The rooms are a bit iffy. They don’t have windows, if you are claustrophobic, you will have a problem! The furniture, made of wood to give a heritage look, needs maintenance, some of the drawers/doors don’t open/shut properly. Yeah, another tip, do not order room service, by the time the food is delivered, its cold! Not sure why they havent invested in some kind of insulation boxes!
