My husband and I stayed here for two nights and had a fabulous time. The hotel has a great location — just 5 minutes from the center and 7 minutes from the parkrun! The owners were very kind and even accommodated our breakfast after the parkrun. We also had a lovely surprise with some delicious homemade cakes! The breakfast was lovely, and the room was very clean. We definitely recommend this lovely B&B

It was my first time visiting the lake district, and our stay at Dalkeith guest house made it perfect. Parking is on the street, however we were able to find a spot relatively quickly and close by. When we arrived for check in we were greeted with a warm welcome and shown to our room. During the stay our hosts were friendly, chatty and happy to give recommendations on places to eat and activities to do. We were in room 1 which had a gorgeous view of Skiddaw. The room was modernly styled, cosy, clean and equipped with drink making facilities (kettle and even a coffee machine which my partner enjoyed). There’s also a small fridge on the landing with chilled water and fresh milk for each room). Our hosts refreshed the room daily- removing rubbish and making the bed. They even left yummy baked goods each day such as rock cakes and coffee cake, which went down a treat after a hike. Breakfast was great, they offer starters such as fruit salad followed by a cooked breakfast, which we thoroughly enjoyed. there was also cereals, yogurts and other options etc to help yourself to. We had such a lovely stay and would definitely book again. Thank you to our hosts for making our stay so enjoyable!

My friend and I stayed in this wonderful guest house when we came for the Keswick convention. It is a family run business right next to the town centre. We were warmly greeted by Rachel , who even carried both our cases together up stairs to our room!! The room was immaculate and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast had a good variation and was delicious. Stephen and Lesley were friendly and to top off this lovely experience, we came back to home baked cakes every day. My friend and I loved it here and will hopefully return next year.

We returned to Dalkeith Guest House this May for a 3 night stay. Yet again we had a warm friendly welcome from Rachel who remembered us from our stay in September 2024. Rachel showed us to our beautiful room, in which we had a beautiful mountain view of Keswick, Lake District. The room was immaculate and spacious. The bathroom room was plenty big for the two of us and that was exceptionally clean with a selection of toiletries. The towels were soft and fluffy ( you could have these changed each day if you wanted). The tea tray had a good selection of teas. coffee and milk. There was also some biscuits too. The bed was a good size and was comfortable with everything soft and good night's sleep was had. The breakfast was a pre order the night before, but there was so much choice and whatever we chosen was well cooked and it was devoured. There was an excellent selection of continental too, along with juices and hot drinks. As always, the hosts were warm and friendly and nothing was any trouble they were very attentive too. When we come back from being out we were greeted to our bed being re made and Lesley's homemade cake (this time we had Rock Buns and the next day Flapjacks) Dalkeith is a moments walk from the town, but you would never know. There are some great eateries here along with Hope Park (if you want to visit Max) and Fitz Park too. Plus a walk along Derwent Water. I feel very much at home here, was sad to go home. We will be back.

Wonderful B&B a few minutes walk from the town centre. We were given a warm welcome and shown to our room. A good night sleep was had as the bed was comfy, the room spotless with all the usual amenities. AND home made flapjacks. But to top it all was a wonderful full English for breakfast. We will be back.

Excellent stay and great hosts. Nothing was too much trouble, whether it was directions, local advice, food preferences or anything else. Really good breakfast choices with homemade berry compote and cake in our room every day. Perfect, highly recommend.

My daughter and I arrived later than scheduled but still had such a warm and friendly welcome from Rachel! We were on the top floor with 2 single beds. Room was lovely and spacious, really lovely decorated and exceptionally clean! Tea and coffee making facilities with nice biscuits. Bathroom was lovely with a nice shower. Didn’t see the lovely views from our window until the morning! Beds were really comfortable and good sleeps both nights. Breakfast was outstanding and set us up for the day both mornings and a lovely touch of a home made piece of fruit cake in our room on our last night! Nothing was too much trouble. A lovely location, nice and quiet and a lovely quick walk into the town. We will definitely be back to visit.

You can look forward to a very warm welcome, excellent breakfast and a very comfortable bed. Our room (1) was spacious, spotlessly clean, and had a great Mountain View. The homemade cakes in the room were delicious! We managed to park on the road very close by. Thoroughly recommended.

This was a great B&B, a beautiful building set on a corner plot, lovely comfortable rooms with high ceilings and modern facilities, my wife and I had a great view out when it wasn't dark (our visit coincided with the shortest day!) The breakfast was excellent, the staff friendly, super-helpful and attentive. The whole place was spotlessly clean and the beds really comfy. Nice little extras like home made cakes really helped the place exceed our expectations. There was plenty of useful information and literature in the breakfast room along with some kids games which our little boy enjoyed. Very convenient for town too which was a real bonus as the weather was poor for this trip. Got parked right outside the front door too. Really couldn't fault the whole experience.

Lovely 3 night stay. We were upgraded to Room 1 which was spacious and had lovely mountain views. Very comfortable bed and lovely bathroom. It was our wedding anniversary on the day we arrived and Rachel welcomed us with a small bottle of Rose wine and strawberries on the glasses. A lovely thoughtful touch. Breakfast is plentiful and lovely. Fresh fruit salad full English fabulous poached eggs. Rachel and Richard were great hosts and we also met and were well cared for by Rachels parents who were warm and welcoming. Rachel makes lovely craft jewellery too and was out doing a fair so I bought some of that too! In sll a pleasure to stay. Lovely touches of homemade fruit cske in our room in the afternoon when we returned. We will most definately return. Thank you everyone
