Excellent four day stay ,close to seafront and all amenities.Room was clean and comfortable,Steve who owns it very nice and helpful plus breakfast was delicious and in breakfast room was a beautiful roaring fire ?? could have sat there all day, will hopefully come back next year
Steve the owner was very friendly and knowledgeable of Scarborough. The breakfast was nice plenty on offer the hotel in general was clean and tidy even the cleaning ladie was lovely. We would definitely recommend this hotel and if we're not already living in Scarborough sometime next year we will be back.
Stayed with my daughter for three nights and had a lovely time. Spacious room even with an extra bed which were very comfortable. Clean and tidy. Very friendly staff and breakfast was delicious. Ideally placed for the beach and town centre. Very friendly staff. Will definitely come back.
Our room was recently renovated and perfect for our needs. We needed a one night stay while visiting my parents on Easter Sunday. Parking was a bit of a problem due to the holiday, but Steven was extremely helpful and went above and beyond by accompanying me to find a space. Plenty of dining options within a short walk, as is the beach. We wouldn't hesitate to book again.
Really comfy, spacious room. Having a lift up to the higher floors is a life saver! The host was excellent all the way throughout our stay. Located close to some excellent attractions and cafes. Also close to the Victorian tramway so beach and sea front access is easy. The rooms were well equipped and modern, with the old building itself retaining it's charm. Overall I highly recommend the Serenity guest house. The only issue was the seagulls that call The Grand across the road their home, they're so noisy! But jokes aside, there's very few reasons to not come to this place. Lots of tea and coffee in the rooms, solid working wifi and a big TV so you can settle down on the cool evenings with ease.
Lovely guest house, I had a very comfortable, large room. Although no sea view! The bathroom was a bit too small though, especially the shower cubicle. The bed was very high (needed a stepladder!) but comfortable. The room really needs a splash of colour as it was bland in its decor.
Breakfast was very good and the dining room itself very beautiful with a huge log fire.
The staff were exceedingly helpful, friendly and had lots of local knowledge. I'd stay there again
A wonderful guest house with a lovely friendly host, Steve was welcoming & gave us details of the history of the building - we were allowed to check in early, & arrange a parking permit on arrival. Room was immaculate cosy, clean & lovely sea views even had a smart tv, which was a nice surprise. Breakfasts were excellent by Steve & served by two lovely staff. Close to beach, tramway, bars & restaurants it is the perfect spot. We would like to stay again, & I’m looking forward to reading the book (which can be purchased at the property) of its history. Just a lovely ?? place, you won’t find better. Thank you for a lovely stay Steve. Xxx
Brilliant place I’m sorry my rate wasn’t that good but we had poor sleep due to noise. Management great and breakfast brill, particularly the mushrooms. Thanks
Friendly staff , good English breakfast but vegetarian option disappointing. Sea view rooms were small and views were restricted (could see a bit of sea between two buildings) and were not the rooms shown on the website ( Rooms 2 and 6). No room for bedside tables, bed very close to the window and no net curtain. Parking was not available near the hotel and was more expensive than stated on the website.
