A lovely hotel with really helpful and friendly staff. It was a real retreat from the hustle and bustle of Alona beach. Unfortunately the scourge of people taking facetime calls on speaker phone or watching videos without headphones has reached these parts and the vibe was somewhat spoilt from this and the constant pings of message alerts. Whilst we know there is little hotel staff can do about this (maybe a sign at reception) there was a group of people partying and being loud one night and we had to go and ask them to be quiet at 1AM, something that the staff should have done. Overall it was still a really nice stay and we would absolutely stay again and recommend to others.

Ruined our mood for the day for making us pay for "dirty" towels (really!)
Tried to charge us 800 pesos for a shuttle to the airport (usually/typically free). We booked a ride from grab for 180 pesos. The ride to the airport literally took 10 minutes.

TL;DR: Fantastic resort with incredibly helpful staff (shout-out to MJ & Gel!), spacious and clean rooms, and a great location that's both walkable to Alona Beach and has a convenient free shuttle. Absolutely would stay here again! Full Review: My stay at Scent of Green Papaya Resort was amazing right from the start. The check-in process was so easy, and the staff graciously allowed us an early check-in once our room became available. MJ and Gel were so helpful from the moment we arrived, going above and beyond to assist with all of our questions throughout our entire stay. The room (I had the King Superior) was spacious and immaculately clean, and the pool was always pristine. The resort offers a free shuttle service to and from Alona Beach from 7 AM to 5 PM (except Wednesday), but it's also a very manageable walking distance. Just a note for future guests, you'll need to pre-select your breakfast choice the day before. I will definitely be coming back here on my next trip to Panglao. Highly recommended!

A quiet and relaxing spot. We stayed for 5 days and had a great experience at this resort. We liked the structure of the rooms because it feels more like home. The staff was absolutely great! Very hardworking, friendly, and always had a smile on their face. Food was also good! I'm glad we got free breakfast every morning. Although it's a 10- to 15-minute walk to Alona beach, their hourly shuttle until 5 PM is convenient and handy when you need a ride. The pool is well maintained. Although some parts of the room (specifically the bathroom) might need some updating, but all in all, our experience staying here was excellent and memorable. We will definitely recommend this resort.

We recently stayed at a hotel I booked through Agoda, opting for the cheapest deal. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and I wanted to share my thoughts. The entire property has a nice garden resort vibe, which we really enjoyed. The room was spacious, and the bathroom was huge—definitely a highlight of our stay. However, I do have a few suggestions for improvement: Lighting: The room could benefit from brighter lights. It felt a little dim, especially in the evening. TV Upgrade: The TV in the room was quite old-school. The remote was hard to navigate, and the overall quality felt outdated. It would be great if they upgraded this. Water Bottles: I would love to see them replace the small plastic water bottles with larger, more eco-friendly containers. It's a small change that can make a big difference in terms of sustainability. Mattress: The foam mattress wasn't as comfortable as I hoped. On the positive side, the staff at the kitchen were very attentive, and my parents especially loved the watermelon juice they served. It was refreshing and a nice touch. If you book a room, it includes free breakfast, which offers a good selection and large portions, along with brewed coffee and juice. The only downside was the limited food selection on the menu. While the quality was fine, having more options would be great. The property is located in a residential area, which might not be the most convenient for everyone, but they do offer complimentary transfers from time to time, which is a great perk. Overall, it's not the best value for money, but if you're looking for a relaxing, laid-back stay, I would recommend this property.

The rooms are a little bit old and don't come with a kettle and complimentary coffee or tea. Meanwhile, the garden and the pool are great. There are a few choices for breakfast available in the restaurant and you can also dine there. Sadly, there are almost no vegetarian menu items, but the pasta with cheese and the bacon burger were good. There is a hourly shuttle to the Alona Beach with many restaurants there. The hotel can also call you a tuk tuk. The staff was always very friendly and helpful.
