Beautiful, friendly staff and great food and service! We will be back! Yangzum was one of the friendly staff who was very helpful in answering all questions and making the experience exceptional.

We’re staying 3nights/4days in Lavie.All the staff members are so friendly and helpful.The room is very clean and full of facilities.And the view from the property also very beautiful.Breakfast was served by set menu and fully enjoyed with delicious breakfast.And the A LaCart menu and IRD menus are so many choices.And we must mentioned Ms Yangzun was really great helped in all our staying in this property.Overall we really enjoyed and loved to this property.Obviously we come and visit Lavie Residence again.

I only stayed for one night but the staff was very friendly. The facility is very clean and cosy and the food was also good. I had done an 8 day trekking tour to my previous stay here and this is exactly what I was looking for. WiFi is a bit weak but this is a general issue and is constantly being improved. The manager will help attend your needs.

We spent 14 days here making it our base and traveling to different places. The Swiss owner and attentive friendly and professional Nepali staff made our stay ever-so-enjoyable. The garden restaurant is a peaceful oasis in the middle of the city bustle around Bouda Temple. Not only is the food delicious making it a place ex-pats love to dine at regularly but also Nepali families, ******* monks and travelers as we were appreciate the atmospere, peace and quiet and fresh air. The villa itself is furnished beautifully, the rooms spacious, super comfortable mattresses and everything spotlessly clean. It feels like home and we‘ll certainly come back whenever in Nepal.

It was nice and cozy to spend time in this hotel. Owner Steven was very friendly and helped us in everything. We are very grateful for that. Delicious breakfasts, pleasant atmosphere, everything is very clean and homely. It was as if we were visiting our friend. Many thanks.

There is no better place to eat and feel the fresh air in boudha than this place because of greenery in the garden. High quality food and good service. It is convenient to park the cars. Simply a nice place to enjoy with friends and family members.

I stayed here for 4 nights with my friends. The staffs and especially the manager treated us very well. Although there were some unexpected issues related with facilities, we still enjoyed our stay a lot. The food was awesome and service was fascinating. Absolutely a hidden gem for those who want to stay away the noisy side of tourist. Small hotel with only 8 rooms, 5 stars for service and food.

Good location, nice property, well designed, but wait till you try and get some food or some rest, awful experience!! We took the place for 12 days with 5 bedrooms with family and 2 small children. The staff all mean well but have no clue about hospitality or service or how to cook. We had to eat out all meals apart from breakfast which was average (though they like to call it "world class" - it's far from any class. Some not great fruit, over cooked omelettes, frozen bread made to toast, processed jam, over sweet yogurt, and Kellogg's corn flakes - world class??) Even though I complained to the owner Steven several times about several issues, all he could do was agree with me and want me to sympathize with him about how hard it is to run a place in Nepal!! Thanks... the general manager was never to be seen and didn't deal with anything. The kitchen was badly run and stocked, sometimes no milk, sometimes no lemon, sometimes no honey, total mismanagement of stocks. Of course I have to feel bad for the owner, but I have to pay full price anyway. Then there are the cute but totally unruly dogs. By day sweethearts, by night howlers!! We got no rest and had long days on pilgrimage. Again, complain and I have to sympathize with Steven!! Go there at your own risk and manage your expectations.

I stayed at the Lavee Residence twice during my trek in Nepal. I was trekking the Annapurna circuit but relaxed both before and after at the Lavee, which was recommended to me by my Nepali friend and guide. This turned out to be an excellent place to stay and would highly recommend it to anyone planning on staying in Kathmandu. The driveway to the residence is private and secure and the front reception was polite and ready with room arrangements. He ensured that I received one of the best rooms in the residence with a balcony. The room itself was spacious with a wonderful bathroom and plenty of hot water. The restaurant is top notch and I ate there for breakfast twice, lunch and a dinner and all the food was delicious, fresh and quick to serve. The trout for lunch was perfectly cooked. Sitting outside at night we could enjoy the fire with the movie playing in the background. The seats are wonderfully covered in fur skins and the bar is fully stocked. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else and look forward to my next visit.

We spend 4 days at Lavie hotel and we enjoyed our stay. Allthough the road is quite busy, after 10pm the traffic slows down heavily and the traffic noise disappears. We went several times to the early morning walking ceremony around Bouddhanath Stupa which is only a 10min walk from the hotel.
The staff is great and we would like to thank Ms. Dawa in particular for her great support. She helped us to buy tickets for a local music festival and supported my wife when she didn’t feel comfortable. Thanks, Dawa!
