Stayed here many times and it is always a real pleasure …very comfortable room with great bathroom facilities and excellent breakfast . The location is perfect in providing a short walk into Keswick and the bus station for a very good bus service across the Lakes . Farmers Rest pub in Portinscale does good pub grub and a decent pint or two ….we will be back very soon .

We arrived a little bit early but Andrew welcomed us in. Powe House is a fabulous Georgian house, spacious and inviting. The room had everything we needed and the view to the mountain was beautiful. The bed was extremely comfortable with a nice, snuggly duvet and pillows. After spending the day in the hills, the return to the most powerful shower I've ever experienced was perfect for the muscles. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice and something for everyone and definitely set us up each day. If we needed anything, Andrew was very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The walk into Keswick is only 10 to 15 minutes for a varied choice of eateries and pubs. If you don't fancy the walk into Keswick, there's a very friendly pub less than 2 minutes' walk away serving standard pub grub. If staying in the area again, I would definitely book here - providing they have the room as it's a very popular place. I would definitely recommend Powe House!

Had a fantastic couple days stay at this beautiful Georgian hotel . I used it as a base for walking and mountain biking . The owners were very welcoming and went above and beyond to help me . The house was really clean , warm and had everything I needed there . The village itself is very typical of the Lake District . There is a pub a few mins up the road that does food . I would definitely come back here for sure .

An extremely please B&B run by Andrew and Helen. Probably one of the best B&B stays we have had. The rooms are nice with comfortable beds, probably the best shower I have ever experienced and a breakfast that should win awards. Highly recommended

Stayed 2 nights at Powe House as needed to be near Braithwaite for the start of the Coledale 10 challenge - not disappointed atall! Room was spotless, bed so very comfortable and we had a bath - with complimentary Radox !! Andrew the host was welcoming and pleasant, breakfast absolutely delicious - our room was no.2 overlooking Skiddaw and the beautiful garden, on our first morning we were lucky enough to see a deer with her babies on the lawn - all in all a lovely place in a peaceful setting and we shall definitely return ??

Thank you Powe House. My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. Your cleaner is doing a fab job, the room was lovely, the bed comfy, the complimentary toiletries superb and the other guests quiet. We hope to stay with you again very soon. p.s my hubby is wanting to return for another breakfast.

Just spent a 2 night stay at Powe House. And was another amazing stay, stayed here around 7 years ago and always wanted to go back. Such lovely accommodation and the owners r so friendly and welcoming. The room has a king size bed with ensuite. Very clean and cosy. The breakfast in the morning is so tasty with plenty of coffee and tea available. Would highly recommend anyone to stay here, so close to Keswick and Derwent lake. Parking available too.

We stayed for 2 nights recently and everything about this B and B was excellent. Great communication, ease of check in, size and cleanliness of rooms and a welcoming host. The room had all facilities, v comfy bed and excellent shower. Breakfast was superb, with a good range and a v helpful host in terms of local knowledge of places to walk to, eat etc. Loved having access to the garden, given the hot weather we had during our stay. One of the nicest B and B's we've stayed in, highly recommend.

From arriving to leaving after two nights I can't fault anything, the host was polite and helpful, the room spacious and the breakfast excellent. Location is good only a short drive from Keswick. I would certainly return.

We stayed for 3 nights at Powe House. The accommodation is located in Portinscale a short 20 min stroll through the countryside from Keswick. Beautiful house and grounds, very welcoming host. Rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean.Modern bathroom with anti slip flooring,high quality toiletries and good towels. Large,comfortable bed and decent pillows. Tea and coffee making equipment,they have a mini fridge on the landing,you can keep your bottled water etc in it,but more importantly, each room has its own numbered fresh milk mini bottle- nice touch. The breakfasts are brilliant, with a choice of fruits,cereal and hot;the cooked in particular included the 'English'option, but an eclectic choice of other options all cooked to order. Plenty of toast,tea and freshly brewed coffee. They have a particularly novel system for requesting items refreshed in the room I.e tea bags,t rolls etc.You tick what you need on a laminated card, hang the card on the door, when you return the goodies are there. They also have lounge with a range of guides etc to the lakes. This place is a gem. My rule of thumb is always, would I go back if I was staying in Keswick again. The simple answer is absolutely.
