We came to see animals and we certainly did. Solomon was our guide and did a fantastic job getting us around the park and seeing so many different game in the park. Accomodation is great and we were able to see so much from our terrace, even to the crocodiles sunning themselves on the banks of the Crocodile River. Outdoor shower was fun and had great views though a tad windy at times. Pool was good though needed a few more sun beds. Only real letdown was the food. One day buffet, next day table platter, then Boma. There was enough food but wasn’t the greatest quality. Get that right and place would have been amazing
We stayed at Camp Shonga - one of Shishangenis smaller lodges. Camp Shonga was an amazing Lodge placed directly in the Wild bush with game one meter from the rooms. The staff were also amazing and the manager Steve gives you a great an safe stay with amazing food.
The six of us enjoyed comfortable, spacious rooms with awesome outdoor showers nestled feet away from active elephants, bush bucks, monkeys and birds. The food was excellent with many choices. We indulged in drinks at the bar, massages downstairs, and lounged by pool during the day. Herold was such an excellent game guide. He has a very good eye for spotting wildlife and since he knew we also like birdwatching he immediately identified many to us. Herold is a trained, educated game guide and his knowledge impressed us. We all feel like the favorite part of our 3 nights stay at Shishangeni ( we went on 6 game drives as Herold took us on an evening one when he picked us up at Crocodile Gate, and he took us on a morning one the day we checked out!) were the mid game drive stops morning and evening. In the morning, Herold would find a scenic place to stop and lay out a wonderful spread of excellent coffee into which we could pour Amarula and tasty biscuits to eat. We would hang out and talk about all kinds of things. During evening drives we would stop and Herold would have excellent wines and beers with delicious dried fruits and snacks to nibble on as it grew increasingly dark. Such a wonderful experience. Many thanks to Shishangeni Main Lodge and all of their staff who work so hard.
Ottimo lodge sia come posizione che come struttura. Si affaccia su di uno specchio d’acqua dove stazionano quotidianamente ippopotami, elefanti, giraffe e alte animali che noi potevamo osservare dal nostro terrazzino. Il lodge è un wild Africa ma molto elegante, personale molto gentile e disponibile. Insomma un ottima finestra sul parco Kruger!!!
La posizione è da favola, la struttura centrale è bellissima ed i bungalow sono posti in un sistema formidabile. Il bungalow è veramente ampio e ben attrezzato. Ha la vasca in camera e all'esterno la doccia. Le colazioni internazionali sono ottime come pure i pranzi e le cene. Il personale è sempre sorridente e gentile.
The accommodation: The architect has been skilled. Really beautiful and inviting hotel with individual rooms/accommodations beautifully integrated into the landscape. From our own balcony we saw an elephant and a kudu. There was plenty of food - almost too much, but the staff only wanted us the best. The food was good, especially the crocodile steaks :-). A special experience was the evening when the food was served outdoors at the hotel's bonfire, where the tables were nicely set up for the guests. The game drives: Our driver Herold was really good at finding the animals. 3 hours of driving in the morning and again in the afternoon felt - to us :-) - like no time because it was so exciting. We got many good pictures and have had an experience for life. Thank you very much, Herold. Our stay was from 8th to 13th February 2024.
O hotel foi perfeito!! O servi?o, 5 estrelas !! O nosso ranger era o Texan e fez o Safari ser perfeito: tudo correu acima das expectativas, com o texan! Com ele vimos todos os animais, estava sempre preparado para de manh? e ao fim do dia proporcionar nos um lanche ou um drink nos sítios mais bonitos, era alegre, simpático, de um conhecimento profundo dos animais e da natureza. Estivemos perto de todos os animais mas sempre com seguran?a.. proporcionou nos uns dias de Safari inesquecíveis . I ve been there with my family in September and we had the luck to have taxen as our ranger. We would like to tell that because of him those days of Safari were unforgettable. He just turned it perfect. We sow all the animals, we had the beat moments. He is simply a perfect ranger and we are so thankful to had the chance of have him as our ranger. Molto bello e affascinante. Personale perfetto e guide super professionali. Cibo al di sopra della media anche del Sudafrica dove comunque la qualità media è alta. Le guide sono assolutamente perfette, ti fanno sentire a tui agio e sono bravissime ad individuare gli animali selvaggi.
The lodge with its nice chalets is wonderful. It felt like a dream living there, especially because of the very caring and friendly staff. We’ve never experienced such a warm and beautiful atmosphere before. Everybody was so friendly! Our Safari tour guide Harold was the best guide in whole Kruger Nationalpark and we had the best talks and Game drives with him. He showed us all the Big 5 and even more animals in just three days and was always motivated to take an extra round. He always had an open ear for questions and as well he had a lot of knowledge of the animals and nature. His friendly and warm character makes you feel comfortable during the whole game drive. We can only recommend him!
