We didn't actually stay at the property and if we could review Yvonne we would. We travelled to Kendal for the day and happened to ask Yvonne if she knew where we could buy mint cake. Yvonne said to give her 10 minutes and she'd get us some to save us going round one way system and potentially missing closing ??. She was back 5 minutes later with enough mint cake for us all. There are some people who make the world a happier place just by being in it and Yvonne is one of them. So genuine, honest and friendly and if we're up this way again we will certainly be checking out your place. Thank you so much ??
We stayed for a night in Kendal before heading into the lakes for four nights of camping. Our train was severely delayed but Yvonne was incredibly accommodating and friendly about our late arrival. In the morning the breakfast was hearty and exactly what we needed before a day of hiking. Yvonne asked about our planned route and offered some incredibly helpful advice; her knowledge of the whole lakes area is superb and is well worth making use of! Overall the Guest House is very well-priced, well-situated, very clean, and run by a friendly and knowledgeable host!
Yvonne is a super host and made us very welcome from the minute we arrived Lovely little personal touches in the bedroom we had (number 3) and the general decor of the whole place is inviting and homely We would definitely stay again when visiting Kendal an would recommend to anyone looking for a home from home stay walking distance to the town with it's many pubs, restaurants, shops and cafes Thank you for sharing your home with us x ?? x
The hospitality from Yvonne was above and beyond exemplary, from my fantastic room overlooking the river which took me off to restful sleeps every evening in a so comfortable bed. It was a break I would do again in a heartbeat and the coffee, tea and hot chocolate provided was a lovely bonus in my en-suite room. Also for a few more quid, I was greeted with a great buffet breakfast and fresh coffee every morning. Thank you so much Yvonne I am writing this regrettably on the train back home. I will be back.
Lovely place to stay, room was lovely - had everything you needed, tea/coffee, biscuits, maps of places to go & even a crossword. Yvonne is a great host, nothing is to much trouble, we will definitely be back. Would highly recommend when visiting the area.
A lovely comfortable stay. The place was spotless, the host friendly and the little added extras were so thoughtful. Freshly baked biscuits in our room, little sewing kit (which we ended up needing) and a hot water bottle and blanket for colder weather. We were facing the river which was absolutely beautiful. I'd describe the guesthouse as quirky, in all the right ways. I'd highly recommend. Thank you Yvonne.
What a great place to stay. Yvonne is a superb Host, full of fun and happy to give you ideas as to where to head for the day. Breakfast is a laugh a minute as she keeps you entertained from the moment you walk in. Rooms are clean, great location close to the Town in a quiet neighbourhood. Thanks so much for a lovely stay - we'll be back!!!!
I visited for a few days and stayed in a single room. Yvonne was absolutely lovely and really cares about her guests and their needs. The room was not the biggest but as a solo traveller it was room enough for me and vital to any stay the bed was extremely comfortable. There are little extra details such as hot water bottle if needed and sewing kit. It is also nice to see that Yvonne uses sustainable products and provides a bin for recycling on the landing. I walked into town which took about 10 minutes. There is no designated parking and even though the demand for on-street parking is high I never failed to find a parking spot close to the accommodation. I had a lovely stay and would not think twice about returning if the opportunity arises.
From the moment we arrived Yvonne made us so welcome that it was more like visiting a friend. The room was spacious and had everything you would need for a stay. The large bed was so comfy that we slept like babies. Although there was no bath, the shower was large enough for anybody, and the toiletries provided smelt wonderful. A hot breakfast was not provided, but there was cereal, fruit, tea and coffee and Yvonne also provided alternative options for those who required them. There was also home made biscuits and a variety of cakes provided in you room and these were replenished when needed. Nothing was too much trouble for Yvonne and we will visit again when next in the area. We highly recommend this guest house, you will have a wonderful time there.
Fabulous guest house! Loverly host who could not do enough to help ! Definitely worth a visit! Parking was no problem easy walk in to town for evening meals ! We would definitely visit again if in the area
