Altea Lodge was a mixed experience. On the positive side, the owner is genuinely great and very helpful. He was friendly, tried to assist when needed, and made an effort to be welcoming. Unfortunately, that was really the only strong point of the stay. The rooms are outdated and in clear need of renovation. The bathroom in particular was disappointing, with visible rust and worn fixtures, which made the space feel neglected and far from comfortable. Overall, the condition of the room did not meet basic expectations for cleanliness and upkeep. Another issue was finding the place. The property has apparently changed its name, and there was little to no clear signage or updated information, which made it confusing and time-consuming to figure out where to go. While I appreciate the owner’s kindness, the physical condition of the rooms and the lack of clear identification make it hard to recommend this lodge. With significant updates and better communication, it could be much better, but as it stands, it falls short of what most travelers would expect.
