  • Guest：Stayed in "Cliffhanger 2" which has the best view of anywhere I've ever stayed. Beautiful location, well maintained site and lovely, spacious, well equipped lodge. Fabulous base for exploring a beautiful part of the Welsh Coast........
  • Guest：We stayed at the Mill Cottage in Gwalia Falls Retreat/Caravan Park as a family for 7 nights during mid-August 2022. Mill Cottage is at the Gwalia Falls Caravan Park, which is on top of the hill overlooking Tresaith Beach. The cottage itself is very spacious, modern and fully equipped. It is a luxury cottage. The kitchen and dining area (in one) is excellent. The fridge-freezer is family size (and not an under-the-worktop one). The cooker and oven are very good. There is Wi-Fi in the cottage, but the router is on the ceiling of the master bedroom (ground floor, next to the garden). Wi-Fi connection is poor at the front half of the property (upstairs and downstairs). The cottage has undergone a full refurbishment and extension recently. Everything looks new. The locks on the toilet doors were faulty. My child got stuck inside the toilet at about midnight one night. After trying and trying I had no choice but to ring the owner. She told me there was nothing she could do! The next day, I got locked inside my bedroom ensuite bathroom. Same lock problem. From then on, we had to keep the toilet and shower doors unlocked, whenever we went in. The cottage has its own parking space within its boundary, but you cannot get your car to drive up the steep gravel ramp. I damaged my car clutch in repeatedly trying to get it up. I gave up in the end. The luxuries of the cottage are reflected in the hefty price of ￡2,000 (less ￡1) for 7 nights in mid-August. However, when we arrived at the cottage, there were lots of cobwebs inside and outside the cottage. There were plenty of spiders everywhere. So, the first thing I had to do was to go on a killing spree (the spiders, of course) and clearing the cobwebs (see my photos). The floor had stains. We looked for a mop. There wasn't any. So, we had to use our children's wet wipes to clean the floor. We then hoovered the whole cottage. The beds were clean (as were all the furniture), but the mattresses were awful. They were the cheap springy type, which you sink into. This caused us back problems. Some investment in quality mattresses would be good. Apart from the above, Mill Cottage was very good. The garden has chairs and a table, which I enjoyed sitting at for breakfast and late afternoon tea (if we were back in early). The garden has a lovely stream flowing through it. My guess is that this joins the waterfall at some point. The holiday park (Gwalia Falls Retreat/Caravan Park) itself is clean and very quiet. During our week-long stay about half of the properties seemed vacant. You have to pay a deposit of ￡100 upon arrival. After we got back home, it took us two weeks and a few phone calls to get this money back.
  • Guest：Stayed before a number of years ago. Think it must be under new ownership as the once soft lighting around the site has been replaced by new white bright, cheap looking and very intrusive spotlights… some are huge great big round spotlights that blind you as you walk past them. Even the entrance barrier is now lit up like it’s Christmas. A real shame as it was a real classy little spot before. They’ve even lit up the mountain. Sadly won’t be returning, feels like Butlins.
  • Guest：Revisited this site after staying here several years ago. Really disheartened to see they’ve put glaring bright white lights everywhere and a flashing entrance gate. Cheapens the vibe and destroys the natural beauty of the night sky… dark sky pollution.
