Its a really nice quiet place that feels more like someone's arty home than a hotel. It's quiet and homey but stylish as well. The view from the hotel is beautiful of Cook's Beach. Which comes to my ONLY knock of this place. It sits on a well manicured stunning landscape. But there really is very little outside comfortable furniture to enjoy the breathtaking view of the bay. My room was kind of in a corner and blocked by shrubs so I couldnt comfortably sit outside and enjoy the view. Who wants to be inside a room with such beauty outside. There wasn't an outside comfortable common are that allowed to take in the beauty. Outside of that..it's fantastic. Breakfast was incredible. They do not serve meals outside of that. It's a lovely place. Just wish it allowed for more outside opportunities to read while taking in that magnificent view.

When we drove up the hill to this mansion called Mercury Ridge, I wondered what portion we might be staying in. When we went through the front door we discovered that we had the entire home, all five luxury suites, each with an ensuite bath, heated bathroom floors, and heated towel racks. The kitchen is massive and filled with all sorts of dishes and utensils etc etc. There is a huge living area with a couch for ten + people, as well as a nearby TV room. There is a hot tub in the yard as well as a pizza oven. Each morning we were treated to a custom breakfast cooked by a gourmet chef based on what we had ordered the night before. The Eggs Benedict were delish!

What an amazing spot, house, service & breakfast! We couldn’t be more pleased with choosing Ercury Ridge! Tom was absolutely amazing, approachable, & knowledgeable, it made our first trip to the North Island unforgettable

Had the best stay at Mercury Ridge. Absolutely stunning room with sensational views over Cooks Beach. Spent both afternoons relaxing in the hot tub admiring the views. Tom was a fantastic host. Would love to go back with a group of friends to really enjoy all the property has to offer. Perfectly maintained accommodation. Stunning.

Eine der sch?nsten Unterkünfte auf unserer Reise. Gro?es Zimmer mit 2 Queensizebetten, extra Wohnbereich mit gemütlichem Sofa. Komplett eingerichtete Küche. Zur Begrü?ung gabs leckere Snacks und ein Flasche Wein. Das frisch zubereitete Frühstück war der Hammer.

Mercury Ridge is fantastic accommodation to which I am happy to give 5 stars. The room, the view, the breakfast, the hosts, everything about our stay was first class. I would highly recommend it. You will definitely not be disappointed if you choose to stay there.

We had such an amazing experience here at Tom and Jo Jenkins lodge. We had John and Angela Jenkins host us while there and it was just so perfect. We could do laundry there, which was a huge perk. Each morning we had the most amazing breakfast and it was so nice to meet all of the people who stayed there, too.

This was our last stay after a 6 week tour of New Zealand and was just what we wanted. We had a lovely stay at Mercury Ridge. A beautiful lodge on a steep hill overlooking Cooks Beach. The views were awesome, the peace and tranquility very restful. Tom and Jo are fantastic hosts who made us feel very at home. This is quite an unconventional establishment mixing bed and breakfast rooms with small apartments with lots of shared space both indoors and outside, but it just works. In fact whilst we were there we didn't encounter any other guests and yet they were fully booked. This may be because we booked a later breakfast as we were on wind down and wanted to enjoy the outside space as the weather was beautiful. The decor and fittings are very high quality and there is a lovely ambience created. The rooms were very comfortable and the free mini bar and snacks were appreciated, as was the cheese platter available on arrival. The breakfast cooked to order was awesome, the best in 6 weeks travel, and we loved being able to eat outside in the sunshine, with the most amazing views surrounding us. The location is excellent as you can visit Cathedral Cove, Hot Water Beach and Whitianga via the ferry at Lands Ending all within a short drive. Beach Towels and basket are provided. There are a number of restaurants recommended all within a short drive. The small village of Cooks Beach is walkable but note the steep hill on return. There are lovely walks along the beach and through the reserve to Shakespeare Cliffs and it is probably best to park near the beach to access. We would highly recommend a short stay at Mercury Ridge.

Beautiful tranquillity. I'd describe this as a Boutique Hotel. It was apparently built in an Italian style as a holiday home with five bedrooms/suites. Positioned on the side of a hill with open views across the bay it is beautiful. The host Jo and Tom are very welcoming. Rooms are very comfortable each making the best of the view with a patio in front. Place your breakfast order in the evening before and everything is beautifully prepared for you in the morning. Take the short ferry ride across o Whitianga to find loads of food, shopping and entertainment.
