  • Guest：We had the best time at Mount Street House. At check in we were met by Nigel who showed us to our room and easily accommodated our plans to take a sunrise walk up Pen Y Fan. He asked us to message our breakfast order through to them if we were going to be back in time for breakfast. Luckily we were as the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs were to die for! We also had toast with Welsh preserves, tea, coffee and juices all served in a lovely dining room on beautiful Portmeirion china. My partner had just proposed up Pen Y Fan ?? and the staff went above and beyond with some lovely Bucks Fizz for us and a card which we thought was such a kind and brilliant touch. Our room was large and had a very comfortable bed with lots of amenities. The complementary toiletries were all a very high quality and all towels were large and fluffy. The guest house is in a lovely location just off the main street of Brecon and ideal for exploring the Beacons. The second morning we tried the full English breakfast, but started with natural yoghurt, fresh fruit, granola and honey. All of the elements were of the highest quality and cooked beautifully. The breakfast selection was vast and nothing was too much trouble. Check out was easy but we didn’t want to leave! Nigel and Myfanwy made us feel incredibly welcome but weren’t at all overpowering. Overall we had an amazing stay and will definitely be back and recommend Mount Street to anyone wanting the spend time in Wales.
  • Guest：the stay was made even better by the lovely room i was given and the superb breakfasts i had for all of 3 day stay - the room had everything and was very comfortable. it even had a bath and i dont have one at home anymore. the radiator was right by the bed so i was warm all night even in february
  • Guest：This really is an absolute gem of a place, recently restored to an extremely high standard. Everything is just perfect, from the delightful, spacious and superbly comfy rooms, to all the thoughtful little extras and lovely toiletries. The decor is also just gorgeous! We stayed for 3 nights and my first thought every morning was of the delicious breakfast I was about to have! Nigel and Myfanwy are excellent hosts and we will certainly be booking another stay at Mount Street House so we can do some more exploring in this fabulous part of Wales.
