  • Guest:Stayed for four nights. Checked in and was sent to the back street where I couldn't find it. Had to go back to the hotel to ask for directions. Very annoying because the sun was hot and I had two bags to carry. One of the receptionists came back with me and it took her a while as well to find the place. Turns out I had to go up the stairs. I wish they had signs indicating where certain suite numbers are. Stairs were pretty dirty. The door opens with an actual key. Locking mechanism is not the easiest to figure out if you're not familiar with this type. I did not like having to carry the key around. There is a brassy smell that stays on the hands and fingers. The apartment is fitted with a kitchen. Appliances are not the easiest to figure out. I had to take several minutes of my time to get the oven, and especially the washing machine to work. I even had to go on you tube to watch a video about the oven. Wish the appliances were more user friendly. Even the TV was a hassle. The bathtub was definitely old, there was staining, made it look dirty. The pots and pans were old and scratched up, didn't feel like cooking with them. There was a roller blind in the bedroom, but it did not block out the morning light. So much for a nice sleep in. Bedroom has no TV, sometimes you want to watch something before bed time. Couch in the living room was not the most comfortable. There was no clock anywhere. Would have been nice to have one in the bedroom. Bedroom faces the outside, so you're subjected to everyone else coming in and out. There is no substantial buffer between you and whatever activity is going on with the other guests. I lucked out and there were no overly noisy people when I was there, however, I did not like feeling so exposed to the outside. Overall, the place was not that bad, but i think it was overpriced for what I got. The location is definitely a plus.
  • Guest:We had a fantastic stay in a 2-bedroom apartment at St. Bridget’s Apartment, part of the Western Hotel. Perfect for our family of four, it was cosy, comfortable, and fully equipped with a kitchen, dishwasher, microwave, pots, cutlery, and washing machine, making self-catering so easy. The location is ideal just minutes from the coach station, Lidl, Tesco, and a short walk to Eyre Square, yet tucked away from the busy crowds. The staff, especially Joshua and the reception team, were incredibly friendly and helpful, and fresh towels and toiletries were replenished whenever needed. We loved having a peaceful base to return to after exploring Galway. A few small improvements, such as door hangers for jackets, stronger shower pressure, a mixing bowl for salads, and a small chopping board in the kitchen, would be helpful, but overall this apartment made our trip truly enjoyable. We would highly recommend it for families or anyone visiting Galway!
  • Guest:We had a fantastic stay at St. Bridget’s Apartment, part of the Western Hotel during our week-long holiday in Galway. We booked a 2-bed apartment which was just perfect for a family of four. Cosy & confortable, the apartment came fully equipped with a kitchen, dishwasher, washing machine, while the bathroom were well stocked with fresh towels & toiletries. The fully equipped kitchen alongwith cookware was ideal to cook up quick meals. The highlight of St Bridget’s is its location, just few minutes from the Coach station and grocery stores such as Lidl and Tesco which is a short walk down the road. And that’s not all, it is just few minutes from Eyre Square where dining options are plenty, yet it is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of this vibrant city. The staff at St Bridget’s, especially Joshua and the reception team, were prompt, professional and helpful from the time of our booking, while patiently answering our queries and offering recommendentaion during our weeklong stay. Fresh towels and toiletries were provided promptly whenever needed. However, we would like to suggest a few minor improvements, such as door hangers for jackets, stronger shower pressure, a mixing bowl for salads, salt and pepper grinders/satchets and a small chopping board in the kitchen, which would add convenience and comfort. Overall, staying at St Bridget’s made our stay truly comfortable and memorable. The hospitality and professionalism of the staff and its location are definitely unbeatable.
