Great location for touring Snowdonia and various tourist attractions and sites. Clean and tidy room with comfortable bed and en suite shower. Lovely healthy sized breakfast with plenty of choice to suit most people. Friendly hosts with good helpful knowledge of local attractions and scenic drives etc. Used a couple of local town pubs for evening meals which were within a 5min walk from accomodation and were reasonable value. Overall we enjoyed our 3 nights and would definitely stay again when visting the area.

Stayed for 1 night for work. A very warm welcome on arrival, the room was very clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was amazing. Thank you so much. Will definitely return.

We had a fantastic couple of nights at Ivy House. Kate and Paul were very welcoming and the service was spot on! It’s in a beautiful location with pubs and shops right on your doorstep. We would definitely return (hopefully soon!)

Took some friends to Ivy House for. Weekend break as we had been earlier this year ( February) and loved it. Had a fantastic welcome from the wonderful hosts Paul and Kate who are really friendly and attentive. They simply cannot do enough for you and have great local knowledge so are on hand to help with ideas in walk and things to do. Ivy House is a beautifully restored and welcoming place to stay, the rooms are clean, airy and have everything you need for a relaxing comfortable stay. The village is peaceful and the bed is comfy so expect so lovely nights sleep whilst you’re there. Hawkshead is a picturesque piece of the Lakes and we were lucky enough to get sunshine the whole time we were there. There are some great pubs, cafes and shops to visits and the food we had was to a very high standard. Everyone was really friendly and we had a most enjoyable time, The breakfast at Ivy House was bang on and set us up for the day. My friends loved it as much as we did the 1st time and it might be our 2nd time to Ivy House but it most certainly won’t be our last x

Again another fantastic 3 night stay at Ivy house dollegue, Duncan and staff are very friendly and helpful, breakfast is plenty,and a nice choice from a full cooked breakfast or kippers,poached eggs,ect ,fresh fruit,yogurts,cereals, also different choice of teas n coffees, we Stayed at Ivy house because 1 it's great and 2 the people are lovely, food locally is good too,we like to eat in the TORRENT PUB food is amazing,We love watching the jets fly through the Mach loop too spent many hours sitting on CAD EAST great buzz,Thanks again Duncan, regards Daren & Donna ,Plane spotters ??

Terrific stay at this beautiful B & B in Hawkeshead. Friendly, curtious, helpful hosts. Comfortable room and fabulous breakfast. Couldn't be better. Highly recommended. Take advantage of the packed lunch offer. Excellent quality. Great base for walking, visiting the Lakes in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Will stay again!

Kate and Paul are lovely hosts, nothing is too much trouble, and wonderful custodians of a beautiful house, which is in the perfect setting of Hawkshead, a quiet quaint village. Ivy house has ample parking and is situated opposite the excellent Red Lion Inn, where the food and ambiance are excellent. Our room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable and we had a good nights sleep. Breakfast was freshly cooked , you order the night before via text message , and delicious. We would highly recommend a stay here especially if you are a Beatrix Potter fan like me as it’s very close to Hilltop. All in all an enjoyable stay and we will be back!

My partner & I had a lovely stay in Room 6. Really comfy bed & everything we needed in the room. Loved the Bluetooth function on the bathroom mirror, nothing like getting a shower to music. Also loved the olde furniture which gave the room extra character. Just one point though -(not enough of a moan to stop giving this place being 5 stars). A bit of a lack of privacy from people passing the window to the car park. Maybe think about a pull down light blind that wouldn't make the room dark. We did pull the curtains but then had to put light on in day. Now on to the breakfast. We were both well satisfied & really set us up for the day. Paul makes exceptional poached eggs, the porridge was plentiful & I loved my yoghurt & blueberries. I would recommend anyone to stay here. Free parking is available, plenty of dining areas close by & it's within easy reach of the main Lakes of Winderemere & Coniston & it's fabulous walking territory.
