The rooms had poor lighting. In room 4360 the door did not lock and the window covering was broken. We ate most of our meals in the hotel. The menu choices were very limited. Our food was so salty. All in all very disappointing.
Room and building were VERY dated and not very clean. Stains on carpet, hair in shower.
Front desk staff did a poor job on checkin providing instruction, directions etc.
Breakfast food was mediocre, service was good.
Not like it used to be, everything is plain average, nothing notable, service is fair, room was clean and comfortable but heat was not working properly so it was arctic level cold or super hot.
The Lodge is very nice and the restaurant was great. The reason for my average rating was the $60 parking cost surprise at checkout. I booked and paid for my room on *******. The person that checked me in did all the typical check in paperwork and issued me a parking hang tag and told me how to get to the garage and room. I was never informed that parking would cost $30 per day. At check out I was charged for parking and was told by the front desk clerk that I should have told about the parking cost because I could have parked on the street for free! Yes, there was plenty of street parking right outside our Custis building. In addition the room had food wrappers in the night table drawers, cups on the floor and clearly the room had not been vacuumed. Other than that the room and bath were clean.

We were very disappointed that the deluxe king room that I had reserved and paid for was not available at check in. No explanation was provided, only the option of a queen bed which we had no choice but to accept it. Can I get a refund for the room difference?
