It was a great stay. Lovely venue really well priced menu (food and drink) the only disappointment was the telly in the room.

The staff went above and beyond to make our stay special. From the warmest of welcomes and ensuring our room was what we wanted to the kind servers and bar staff, all were warm, personable yet professional.
The evening meal and breakfast were some of the best we’ve ever eaten at a hotel.
Will definitely be staying again.

The decor in the room needs updating. There was a big crack in the paint on the wall immediately as you walked in.
The bottom of the bathroom door was all chipped. And the sink was clunky when using the water.
The floor was really quite creaky and loud.
We had booked a table for dinner- very slow service. The manager told us to get our drinks at the bar, proceeded to serve the people after us their drinks at the bar first, all while waiting for our tables and then seated them before us too! We were then put on a table in the conservatory with terrible lighting and not a nice, cosy atmosphere at all.
When the manager decided to seat us, we hadn’t had our drinks order at the bar and he said he would take it from the table, he did but then forgot and we had to prompt a different waitress. The drinks were only rum and coke, not any cocktails.
Food was lovely and tasty, and the waitresses were brilliant too.
I appreciate it was Valentine’s Day, but the restaurant could have been so much more organised.
On the other hand, the staff were lovely and welcoming, the bed really comfortable, and surrounding areas were great for walking.

Great hotel; lovely room, lovely grounds, very nice team of people. My go to spot when I’m staying in Derby.

I don’t usually give feedback but a few things stood out sadly. The postcode took us up the road and the lodge on site is not sign posted so had to get out and ask.
There was water pouring through the electrics in the ceiling in the kitchen when we arrive so had to wait whist it was sorted and a frying pan was left on the floor to collect water for the drip for the duration of the trip.
The bed is two separate beds pushed together and a really uncomfortable hard lump in the middle! Beds were not comfy and quite small so feet were just over the edge a lot of the time.
The light in sauna couldn’t turn on as buttons were missing.
The tv signal was terrible and not a smart tv.
One of the complimentary bottles of water had been opened and 1/3 empty which was odd so we couldn’t drink it leaving only one sparkling and was late when we noticed so we didn’t have water.
There was a party below us with loud music/ beat till midnight. We never normally care about this but it was like it was next door and we had a long drive to get there.
A window was left open so the lodge/bedroom was really cold when we arrived.
We were a bit disappointed as would have liked to have come back one day.
On a positive note- the food was good, the lodge looks beautiful, the staff are really friendly and the club is nice.

Staff well trained (a rare thing these days).
Food excellent and reasonably priced.
Only negative was WiFi not strong enough for in room smart tv.
Would definitely stop again.

Lovely hotel
Really nice hotel set in beautiful grounds. Very comfortable and good sized room. All the staff I encountered during my stay were helpful and friendly. Food was lovely as well. All in all a very nice few days. Booked in again for my next business trip to Derby. Would definitely recommend to others.

Everything was lovely apart from a challenging shower and I know it was my fault for not asking but no lift to upper floors

We had a lovely stay at Horsley Lodge! The food was absolutely excellent, beautifully presented and full of flavour, and the staff were friendly, attentive, and welcoming throughout our visit. The views from the property were truly stunning and made for such a relaxing atmosphere.
The room itself was clean and comfortable, though the bedding and air in the room had a slightly closed-up scent, as if they hadn’t been aired for a while. It wasn’t a major issue, just something we noticed.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.
