Room was clean- A few let downs. There was 4 of us travelling and we booked 4 separate DOUBLE rooms, all 4 of the rooms were set up as single beds, disappointing. We arrived at half 12 and asked if we could pay ￡15 to early check into one of the rooms, we was advised none of the rooms were available to be able to do this, but if we come back after 3pm, all four rooms will be ready on the ground floor next to eachother (we was fine with this as we hadn’t pre booked). We turned back up at the hotel at half 4, there was a big debate over rooms being ready, and check in took over HALF AN HOUR for the 4 rooms; we ended up being on the first floor which wasn’t an issue but clearly our destignated rooms had been given to someone else.

Good value for money You only get 1 pillow per person in the room. I didn’t ask if I could have more because I was in bed when I realised it would have been nice to have another

Stayed at Cardiff zip hotel stafff went over and beyond nothing was to much and was very polite and courteous Would definitely recommend

I love this place. Basic but just what you need for the price. The staff are so nice and helpful. We stop every time we come to Cardiff. A bus ride into the city. We come here 3 or 4 times a year, always for a couple of nights. This time 3 nights. 5 star for me.

Really good value for money. No courtesy tray in room but you could get tea or coffee in the bar. The only real issue was finding the place! Satnav takes you into an industrial estate- no signage anywhere to work out where it was! Finally only a small sign at the entrance (to a completely different company- very confusing). Huge car park. Friendly staff, nice and warm and very clean. Room is very compact but adequate- not suitable for larger adults! Also had to pay ￡3 for an extra pillow. Bar was excellent- fair priced food on the menu and table football/ pool table. We were pleasantly surprised for the price. Would stay more often if it was closer to the centre- what we saved on the room we spent on taxis but no complaints.

I stayed at the Premier Inn Zip from Monday 8th til Wednesday 10th December. I was in town to see Bryan Adams at the Cardiff Arena. This was my first time booking a hotel and I was very excited. When I turned up I very quickly got given my keycard. It took me a few moments to work out how to activate the lights (keycard in slot) but then it was plain sailing. Was excited to have a shower after a long day of travel and the walk from the train station. It was fun to have TV with Freeview since Ive not owned a TV or watched TV for many years and just watched terrible game shows just to unwind and veg out. ?? The breakfast was very nice. I had a veggie sausage bap and a black coffee. Not the hotels fault but I did not sleep very well due to being in a new place but my second night was better as I was so exhausted from the concert and the walking (20 miles over two days!) and I couldn't be bothered to get a taxi or bus. The hotel was clean and tidy throughout and the room was SILENT in the evening. SO no noisy neighbours keeping me awake. I enjoyed the light-box in lieu of a window and I experimented with a few "moods" usually favouring dark blue in the evening whilst watching terrible game shows in bed and the brightest white for getting up and showered. I would definitely stay again :) 5/5 OH AND THEY HAVE A CAT ??????

I was a little worried when reading reviews but didn't need to be.room was spotless, comfy, clean sheets, lovely shower/bathroom. Excellent value for money. The bar/seating area at reception is a lovely touch. Room was fun with colour lighting choices..aircon worked a treat. The ironing room was handy. Reception staff were very friendly. Will definitely consider it again if looking for a bargain stay in Cardiff.

I've stayed here a few times and I see myself booking for the foreseeable. The price is amazing and I'd rather stay here than go to a BnB. You have to take into account that there are some things you won't get in a standard PI (additional towels, extra pillows, a kettle etc) but it us easy enough to pack a towel and pillow. The rooms are compact so not ideal if you are sharing a room with a friend. When I first stayed at the hotel, my room had a seperate shower cubicle to the toilet which meant there was counter space to put my toiletries and meant I could shower in comfort as the shower cubicles are slightly larger than the rooms with a shower and toilet.

The Zip Cardiff is located outside the city centre, but still offers fantastic value even if you use taxis to travel in and out of the city centre. The “pod” type rooms are functional and were very clean. The beds can be set up quickly either as a twin or double. There is a tv and plenty of power points. There is a small bar/cafe/food area on the ground floor and car parking is free. An ideal option for nights out in the city. The staff were super helpful and friendly. If you just want somewhere simple to slyafter your day/evening out, then this is an appealing option.
