A new experience staying in one of these very small podlike rooms. Comfy enough with everything you need. Basic wifi was poor, the better wifi was a bit pricey at ￡5 per day. The restaurant area was clean and modern, lots of seating, big TV but it was all quite loud at times. Food was quickly prepared and probably frozen, limited selection and not brilliant but if you just need sustenance it's OK. I would definitely stay there again but allow myself better choices for food.

Good basic room but the price is good for what you get. You have to pay extra for pillows and that but just to sleep its an excellent price ??

Crikey - it was one of the most surreal experiences of my life to stay in what appeared to be a cross between a laundry cupboard and a space age pod! To be fair to Zip I didn't know i was staying in a new type of Premier inn as someone else had booked this for me. On entering the room i thought i had walked into a broom cupboard by accident - The pros - it was cheap (but not that cheap when you added up the potential extra's). Free parking (first come first served) It was clean and the staff were nice. Also i did like the fact they had an ironing room - something you don't find in hotels - only on cruise ships. Now for the cons - tiny room no-where to put anything, no drawers, no wardrobe - just a ledge for your bag like you get on trains no kettle - but you could buy drinks at reception (self service - but pay cafe prices) You only got one pillow - if you didn't want a crick in your neck you had to pay ￡3 to hire another one. The bed wasn't even made. You only got one towel (no hand towel provided) - if you wanted another it was ￡5 to hire. And OMG no window (as i say i didn't know what had been booked for me so it was a surprise and not a pleasant one) The breakfast was ￡10.95 each day. Although i only paid ￡45 per night (i stayed two nites) if i'd ordered another pillow, towel, had breakfast on both days AND had two hot drinks on both days my total cost would have gone up by ￡38 - not quite the bargain you think you are getting. My advice - take an extra towel, pillow and a thermos flask to fill up on hot water at reception - and buy those little UHT milks they sell and places like B&M.

This is a lovely cheap alternative if on a budget. There is plenty of car parking and the room is cosy. The only downside is that there is no window- which I knew before going but I did feel a bit claustrophobic so left earlier than I planned to. But that was just my personal experience- I've not felt claustrophobic before and did miss sleeping without a open window. I didn't use the bar or have breakfast so cannot comment on that. If there was no where else to stay then I would stay again. The room was clean. And the little shower room was adequate for me. Not sure how it would be for two people sharing

Stayed one night here in conjunction with a concert in Cardiff. Small twin rooms feeling like a ship cabin. No windows but a good lighting system. quite and good night sleep. Reasonable room and value for the price. Good and available parking in the grounds of the sports centre. Limited breakfast options meant we just skipped that and went to the Morrisons close by.

Perfect accessible room for graduation stay I stayed with the Zip team for five nights while I was in Cardiff for my university graduation, job interviews and some celebrations. As a wheelchair user, I could not fault the accessible room. There was ample turning space, a non-slip en-suite wet room with grab rails, shower seat and emergency pull cords. Everything was spotless. The staff were friendly and helpful. The reception and bar area was welcoming; you could order food and drink from the bar or bring in a takeaway if you preferred. Outside, the ramp had a sensible, gentle incline that made coming and going easy. I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel, especially as the accessible room was not priced higher than the standard rooms. Big shout out in particular to Ayesha – what a lovely and hardworking lady!

Checked in on Friday, the rooms are small but value for money is there. I was greeted and checked in by a lovely lady called Lindsey on reception who was very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Later in the evening we got food and drinks also served by Lindsey who was working the bar & kitchen. Definitely a huge credit to Zip as she was serving food, checking in guests aswell as running around making sure everybody was okay. Would definitely have her as an asset to my own team if I lived local. Will definitely be returning in the future.

Great hotel, this is the second time we’ve stayed. A bit tricky to find but once you get there loads of parking! Rooms small but perfect for myself and a five year old. Food in the restaurant basic but nice… good deals on a meal and drink too. If you want to go out for food, quite a few restaurants a five minute drive away. Would definitely recommend.
