Very tired rooms, obviously r un on a shoestring, the restaurant had the atmosphere of a morgue. Good for trainspotters as you can listen all night to the railway announcements from the station next door.

Room was extremely cold despite adjusting room stat. Wall heater blowing warm air when we arrived but stopped shortly afterwards. Only 1 chair for 2 adults meaning second adult had to sit on bed settee which was at an acute angle for watching tv. Room needed refurbishing, stains on chair seat and carpet. Bed clean and comfortable and bedroom ok. Reception staff friendly. Object to paying additional fee for car park. Would look elsewhere if staying in that area again.

A big thank you to Brook and the team for a lovely 2 days away. We were well looked after. Nothing was too much trouble. The food the chef prepared was delicious. Thanks to the cleaning team our room was clean and comfortable. Such good service. 10 out of 10

Outstanding hotel. Little run down and tired looking but your team really make up for it. I think his name is Brandon, he really stood out. You can tell he is the manager, very welcoming and hospitable.

My daughter and I stayed here for part of a girls’ time away (Feb 7 th). The room was clean and well appointed and soon warmed up with the convector heater. However there was loud music emanating from a nearby room. The manager on duty dealt with this for us quickly and efficiently. Thank you. We chose Meal Deals and the food was good and so was the service. The location suited us too. Thank you Premier we had a great stay.

Met up with friends to catch up when they were staying in Chelmsford. Not the easiest place to find, especially in the dark. We ate at the hotel’s restaurant. Food was OK but nothing exceptional. Menu wasn’t extensive but we all found something.

Exceptional staff, and food was amazing. Room was clean, quiet and a great place to stay. Only negative is the heat in the room 20+ degrees.
