This out of town hotel which backs onto a 24hr service station is now charging ￡7 per night to park. It is bot within walking distance of the town or any attractions so why. I have stayed at this hotel many times over the past two years and have always found the staff friendly and helpful except for one who stands out like a sore thumb. He is rude in the fact that he ignores patrons. On my last visit he ignored the fact I was struggling to get through the door and left another guest to help me. When I first noticed him a while ago I didn't realise he was a member of staff as he just seemed to be hanging around, but on my last visit I found out that he is the manager (Brendan). What a waste of space, putting so much pressure on the rest of the staff who for some reason seem frighten of him. There is an alternative Premier Inn less than a mile away with free parking and a decent manager. After many years thats where I shall go in future.

Hardly a warm welcome from the chap behind the desk. But the evening meal was very nice served by a nice waitress. Sad they had ran out of Guiness behind the bar Full English Breakfast was ok pity the scrambled eggs were cold . On leaving was told I have to pay to have used the hotels car park another fiver on top of the bill

We used Springfield as our overnight base for our trip to visit RHS Hyde Hall about 9 miles from Chelmsford. We tend to use Premier Inn as its a comfortable stay and with the meal deal we dont have to think about a restaurant nearby for our food requirements, as The Premier Inn partner restaurants serve good value meals (and a cracking all you can eat Breakfast)

Beds are 10/10, can’t fault the staff they’re all amazing. Customer service was always out do this world, Brendon was polite and always welcoming. Amy and debs always went above and beyond to make sure customer satisfaction was met. Can’t thank everyone enough for making our experience one we won’t forget!

Everything was pretty much as expected, simple booking and check in experience. Room spacious, clean, tea coffee in room easy top up at reception, good breakfast, polite helpful staff, all as it should be. Considering the location of the hotel (rural) wasn't too pleased with ￡5 parking charge you need a car to get there.

We arrived at the hotel and it was busy with people queuing to check in,, eventually we got to the front to check in and Freddie gave us a lovely welcome however we overheard a very snappy rude woman telling a couple that she can't help out checking in because she's going home wow they definitely got told ! Our room wasn't as clean as it should or could have been but the bed is comfortable. Breakfast was nice but very busy and not enough staff members but the woman from the day before was running around getting stressed out and was being so rude to people asking for anything that it became quite awkward so we couldn't wait to check out, shame really because this could be a great place to stay with better management and without the stroppy woman!
