Staff were nice on check in. Location was convenient for me as travelling for work so petrol station was helpful. Parking was a hidden fee, most premier inns have free parking but £8 for 24 hours. When I checked in I was given one of the old unrenovated rooms, which smelt like smoke. I’m not usually fussy but I turned straight back around to ask for another room, it stank. They were fully booked so couldn’t swap my room which is understandable, but just a shame that they’re selling rooms that they know aren’t comfortable for guests. The lovely lady behind reception admitted all of the older rooms have that smell and gave me some air freshener. If you stay, ask for a modern room.

Nice friendly people - e.g. Brooke and Jordan. Bit tricky to find first time, but Satnav got us there on second attempt! Car park spaces a bit tight. Fine once you’re inside!

Everything was brilliant. Super friendly staff, food was good and hot. A special thank you to Jordan, Lyndsey and Debs nothing was too much trouble. As myself and my colleague were staying so regular they got to know our names and even pre booked are evening meal as it was getting busy. A real home from home. Have a great Christmas and new year to all of them.

Scruffy hotel in need of restoration. Squashed between BP garage and McDonalds. Charged £8 for parking - details hidden in small print. No realistic alternative and felt like Rynair pricing - tempted by a low sticker price and then slammed with extra charges. Staff I met were surly and unhelpful. I decided to eat elsewhere - unintended consequences of rip off parking charge. Won't be returning

Food Wes very good but room needed cleaning cobwebs in bathroom and in main room, curtains were falling. But no problem with heating and staff friendly

Brooke was the shining star of our stay, always happy, brilliant customer service. She really made us feel welcome and looked after. The hotel is good. Little tired in places. Overall its clean and comfy. No air-conditioning so the room was quite hot at the start. Restaurant kitchen is small, so dinner could be slow, but the breakfast was great. Would stay again. Convenient for working in Chelmsford.

Very good experience. We arrived very late, but all the staff were friendly and smiley. The room was very clean, beds comfy and the towels soft, fluffy and very white. The breakfast was excellent, cooked to order and Jordan our waiter was lovely. Parking on site was good, would recommend to anyone.

In summer some of the rooms, including Room 131 in which we were are too hot and lacking adequate ventilation. You need to install AIR CONDITIONING. The fan provided is not adequate because your safety regulations stop the windows being opened far enough to allow it to work properly.

Arrived at the hotel just before checkin and the room I requested wasn’t quite ready - as I usually request a close room to the car park (as I have lots of equipment to unload each day) so brooke on reception asked me if I could wait for 15 mins whilst it gets sorted and even offered me a coffee whilst I waited. Fantastic costumer service here. Will definitely be using again

The reception staff(Brook) has to be the nicest friendly person she is a credit to the company helped me out with parking lovely smile always so happy.food was excellent the room is very clean all the staff were first class service can’t wait to go back will always pop in on my travels just to say hello and a bite to eat best premier inn I’ve stayed in ????
